White Metal Detector
I’ve enjoyed metal detecting for several years and my level of enjoyment substantially increased when I purchased my first Whites metal detector. I purchased a XLT model from Whites. I was overseas at the time in Cape Town, South Africa. I lived literally five minutes from a very busy beach. When it finally arrived, it took me a while to get acclimatized to the functionality of the XLT, especially the extensive programming that you can do with it. I think though, that the programming functionality within it was a God sent. I was able to program the South African coins perfectly and it didn’t take long for me to know what I was finding was junk or jewelry or coins.
Pay dirt with Whites Metal Detectors!
On, I believe, my third visit to the beach I found a whole wack of coins in about the same area. It was near one of the only shady spots on the beach near the change houses. It worked out to about 50 South African Rands. Well, it was enough to purchase supper for my family at our favorite pizza restaurant two nights running. And the really cool thing about this was I was able to return to this same spot on several occasions over the summer and collect about the same amount.
White Metal Detector
Over the years, White’s has dramatically improved their line of detectors. As a matter of fact, I purchased a second one, a Prism III, for my son. I love both equally for different reasons. I do find that the Prism is less feature flexible, but still a great detector. And it definitely has an advantage in the reduced weight. This too is another great detector.
My Possible Future Whites Metal Detector
I would really like to possibly look at two of the White’s models in the future. One would be the GMT, their Goldmaster model. It is a gold metal detector, designed to pinpoint gold. I’ve done gold panning in the past and that was a blast, so I’d love to sniff out old gold mines with one of these beauties. The other direction is more of a beach metal detector. It’s the Surf PI Dual Field detector. It is not effected by the salty content of the sand and water in salt water environments, so it’s ideal to look lost jewelry on the shores of your favorite holiday destination. Sounds like a good reason to visit the Bahamas to me.
Up close and Personal
The only other whites metal detectors that I haven’t mentioned that I’ve purchased, is the Bullseye II Pinpointer. It is truly a pain in the butt to try and locate a piece of treasure when you are on your hands and knees while digging up the ground. The Bullseye really is a gem here. Once you start digging, you can probe the hole with the bullseye and fine pinpoint the location of your find. This is one whites metal detector that I bought at the end that I should have bought at the very beginning. If there is any one recommendation that I can offer, look at getting something like the Bullseye. You will have yourself a ton of aggrevation!
